This weekend was the penultimate round of the Ultimate Cup Series season. After achieving the fastest time in qualifying session, then the fastest lap time in the race, Realteam Racing finished the 4 Hours of Magny-Cours in second position.

During the qualifying session, the Team showed strong ambitions, with a good performance of Sebastien Page who performed the best time in the second qualifying (1:36.251) and David Droux in the third (1:33.555). This allowed the Team to start the race in pole position.

Saturday, the start of the race was given on a wet track. Sébastien Page was the first driver at the wheel of the NORMA M30 car N. 7. He did a very good start by maintaining his advantage. A few minutes later, the duel with the Team Inter Europol Competition car N. 14 started.
Before the end of the first hour of racing, a Full Course Yellow was pronounced, forcing all the prototypes to slow down considerably. The car was P4 in the first hour of race and passed P5 at the second hour after a duel with the Team Virage prototype. A new momentum allowed the Team to be back P3 in the third hour of the race, Realteam Racing successively overtook Team Virage and Inter Europol Competition then found itself in the fight against the Team Excool prototype. In the fourth and final hour of the race, the rain was back and intensified over the minutes. The drivers stopped to equip the car with rain tires. David Droux then showed his ease in all conditions, with an advantage of almost 10 seconds per lap against his competitor. The Swiss driver was then the only one to be below the 2 minute lap. The gap between the competitors tightened and at 13 minutes of the checkered flag, David Droux reached the second position. He finished the race at this same position.

Another good race concluded by a well deserved podium only one week from the final round of the European Le Mans Series in Portimão from October 25th to 27th.
The final race of the Ultimate Cup Series will take place at Le Castellet from November 1st to 3rd.

“The race took place in very difficult conditions, with heavy rains, accidents, changing track conditions and by night. The result is not what we expected but the cars were all very competitive in qualifying session and were able to stay on the track in the race and do their best. The balance sheet is still positive. The Team developed cars in difficult and very wet conditions. The pace on the track was very good for all of our drivers who were very careful and professional. Congratulations to David for his results and his performances.” – Pascal Rauturier, Team Manager

“The weekend was not easy because of the weather conditions, with rain and dry weather. We had to constantly adapt our behavior and our trajectories. The qualifying session was good for everyone. However, we had to drive under the rain before and during the race. Unfortunately small mistakes and a contact forced us to make unplanned pit stops which probably deprived us of the victory. We finally get a second place thanks to David Droux my teammate who made a spectacular comeback!” – Sébastien Page

“It was a very good position on the finish taking into consideration the race and the weather. It’s great to finish on the podium. We showed our speed thanks to the pole position but also in the race. Of course we would have liked to win because in terms of pace, both Sébastien and I gave ourselves thoroughly!” – David Droux

“I am very happy to see the results of Realteam Racing, despite the bad conditions, the work done was remarkable!” – Esteban Garcia
